notes:battle.net_client_broken_2023
This is an old revision of the document!
Information
- Since late 2023, the Battle.net client has been incompatible with Wine due to a Chromium component update

- All versions of WoW can be logged into with email/pass by directly-launching WoW (not its Launcher)
 - Battle.net client can be used without logging in, and old game data can be restored and data scanned for in Settings
 - Close the window for scanning for games first-start, and then access Battle.net client settings from the Wine system tray right-click
 - For games with updates, right-click the Battle.net client Wine tray icon and Resume updates (GNOME likely needs legacy tray support disabled)
 - Can possibly install games fresh with Battle.net client launcher flags

- Diablo III can use email/pass log-in
 - StarCraft II was known to be able to do email/pass log-in
 - Diablo II Resurrected worked one time with
-user-passflags
Test
- Last tested: 2024/06/16, Wine Staging 9.5, Fedora 40 (still had numerous errors at log-in)
